Please Pray

Every once in a while there is a story that you hear about that gets under your skin and into your heart. Earlier this week a dear friend of mine sent me an email asking me to pray for her neighbor. Here is the story:

Lori was doing their nightly ritual of washing her 4 year old's hair in the bathroom. Her daughter Jessica likes to lather up the soap real good on top of her hair. Lori hears her 18 month old son, Tommy in the other room. Jessica was scrubbing her hair as Lori stepped out the door to the living room, just out the door, to check on him. When she stepped back in, about 30sec. later Jess was under the water. She grabbed her up and ran to the living room to find the phone and dialed 911 and immediately started CPR. The paramedics arrived and took over, they were able to get a pulse. They were unsure as to how long she went without oxygen. They rushed her to the medical center where they had her on a ventilator, although she was breathing on her own. They later medivaced her to Scottish rite hospital in Atlanta. This morning they found out from further testing that she is brain dead. Now the family has to make decisions of what to do.

Can you imagine such hopelessness of going through such a situation without the hope of our Lord and Savior? I have a book called "America Looking Up" by Max Lucado. It is a small book, but it is HUGE in knowledge and comfort. Whenever I hear of a horrible situation or I am struggling to bring comfort to someone in what looks like a hopeless situation, I read through it. Here is something that jumped out at me:

"When all that is good falls apart, what can good people do?
The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord sits on his throne in heaven."
~ Psalm 11:3-4
David answers his question not with an answer, but with a declaration. God is unaltered by our storms. He is undeterred by our problems. He is in his holy temple. He is still on his throne in heaven. God can turn tragedy into triumph.

Only He can bring healing in a situation like this. Please be in prayer that the God of comfort and healing will heal these broken hearts. What a horrible situation-but God is still in control, He is still on His throne and He wasn't surprised by what happened.

Here are the families names:
Tom and Lori Marstins, Parents
Jessica and Tommy the Children,
Karen and Lance Grandparents
Tom's parent live up north and I don't know their names
Also a brother and sister of Lori's

Thank you and God Bless, Marion
